Ipswich and South Suffolk Level 2 High 5’s Netball competition

May 2014

Felixstowe Academy hosted the Ipswich and South Suffolk Level 2 High 5’s Netball competition recently, with ten primary schools from around the district coming along to use our brand new facilities for the first time.

The location for the competition was our Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), and the event really showcased what the MUGA has to offer for sports students.  Even on a wet and grey day, you could not dampen the spirits of the primary school pupils and their families as they cheered each other on in their matches.

Event Instructors and Academy staff spent the day working with students from a variety of secondary schools, including Felixstowe Academy, St Alban's Catholic High School, Northgate High School and Farlingaye High School .  All students were a real asset and umpired and scored all the matches to a high standard in spite of the rain, motivating the younger students to play to their best.

Representing Felixstowe Academy were students Hannah Batten, Chelsea Grundy, Jess Monk, Emma Abbott, Amy Utteridge and Phoebe Newton Smith.
