Felixstowe Academy U16 Girls Football Team vs Copleston High School

November 2013

The Felixstowe Academy Year 11 Girls Football Team had their first competitive match of the season and came away with an excellent result. On a wet and windy afternoon in very difficult decisions the girls coped really well and produced some high quality football, scoring TEN goals without reply!

A solid defence of Megan SpauldingElissa SmedleyAudrey Dean and Gemma Crane ensured that Copleston rarely threatened. When they did Georgia McKinnon easily dealt with any rare Copleston attack.

Our midfield of Imaani WatsonEmily LambertMegan Barbor and Olivia Spink caused Copleston problems throughout the game. Imaani especially catching the eye in an excellent midfield performance.

In attack, Carra Seeley and Rebecca Prowse were a constant threat throughout. At halftime we lead 3-0 thanks to a hat rick from Seeley. Second half the girls went up through the gears and scored a further 7 goals!

Our midfield were prolific in front of goal with a hatrick from the impressive Watson and two excellent strikes from Lambert along with a goal apiece for Gemma and Olivia, on her debut.

Second half subs Rebecca Cox, Lizzie Brisbane and Ellie Piotrowski gave fresh legs and all performed well in an overall excellent team performance.

Final score 10-0 to Felixstowe Academy.  Well done you the whole team!
