Excitement building for the Prom!

Excitement is building amongst Yr11 students as preparations for the Felixstowe Academy Yr11 Prom gathers momentum.  With the landmark Yr11 event booked for Sunday 30 June at Trinity Park (Suffolk Show Ground), the hunt is already on for many students looking for the key event item – the Prom Dress!

Help has been on hand though from the team at The Jewellery Box – an independent store stocking a large range of Prom and Wedding dresses.

Corrina Horne, owner of The Jewellery Box, was happy to support Year 11 Prom, saying ‘This year I thought it would be a good idea, for every prom dress I sell to Felixstowe Academy students, I will donate £5 to the prom committee.’

And what a response Corrina has had!  With students already visiting the Jewellery Box to try on and sample her large range of fabulous dresses, the Felixstowe store has already sold outfits to students wanting to look their glamorous best!

‘So far I have sold 20 dresses to students and staff at Felixstowe Academy adding up to a donation of £100.  I know the committee will already be making plans for the event, so felt it would be good to give this initial donation to them now’ Corrina said of the presentation.

With just over a seven weeks to go, there is still time to for students to browse the largest range of Prom dresses in Felixstowe.  And don’t worry gentlemen – there is also a great range of unique cuff links to give your DJ a killer finish!

The Prom will be held at Trinity Park on Sunday 30 June, with arrivals from 6.45pm for a sit down three course meal at 7:30 and a disco to follow.  The event has an ‘Evening’ dress code.  Ticket cost £35 per person and students must collect a Prom letter from Mrs Gibson or Mrs Warnes.  A photographer will be available on the night for couple or friendship photos if students would like them as a souvenir of the evening
