Felixstowe Academy Sees Red for Comic Relief!

Felixstowe Academy went Red Nose crazy to raise hundreds of pounds for Comic Relief!

Not only did 6th Form students take over their assembly ‘Harlem Shake’ style, but Red Nose Day was also declared ‘Non Uniform Day’ for staff and students who were prepared to donate £1 to Comic Relief – and judging by the fun outfits on display at both Academy campus sites, lots of money will be raised!

Highlights of the fundraising activities included:

·         a hotly contested ‘Student and Staff Bake Off’, judged by Head Girl Sophie Steele and Head Boy Christian Hurry. 

o   All cakes entered where then sold on for Comic Relief

o   Student winner was 6th Form student Darren Jacobs with a Black Forest Cheesecake

o   Staff winner was Miss Dickson with a Mars Bar Cake!

·         6th Form student Ben Cattermole, a passionate weight lifter in his spare time, achieved an amazing 1096 push ups in 3 hours!

o   He achieved his target of 1000 push ups in 2 hour 47 minutes, so kept on going!

o   That’s an average of 6.1 push ups a minute!

·         6th Form students offering to wash cars for £2.50 per car!

·         Form 9MF gave tutor Mr Curry an extreme make over he’ll never forget!

·         Student cake sales at various locations around both Academy sites
