Getting Muddy for Money

posted 6 Nov 2014, 03:32 by Web Admin
A team of determined staff and their friends decided to do something a little different to raise funds for Cancer Research UK - and getting completely covered in mud in the process!

The team, calling themselves the ‘Dirty Skirts’, included Mrs Cumberland, Mrs Wysocki, Mrs Miller, Ms Reilly, Mrs Wyard, Mrs Roper and Mrs Lawrence who took part in the Race for Life, Pretty Muddy Ipswich.  The 5km race involved ten muddy obstacles including crawling through muddy tunnels, under nets (muddy) over a climbing wall, crawling through a mud pit (whilst having mud thrown at them) and finally having to climb a high slide before sliding into another mud pit.

Mrs Cumberland, PA to Mr Salter, said ‘It was great fun and a great atmosphere and we screamed and laughed a lot. Please see our before and after photos for the proof of muddiness!’
These amazing women have raised a superb total of £1000 for a fantastic cause.  Mrs Cumberland added ‘We want to say a massive thank you to all who have sponsored us, supported us and for your kind comments this morning about how clean we now look!’
Dirty Skirts’s decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK because either a member of their team or a member of their family had been affected by cancer.
