Students studying for their BTEC Music course delivered an outstanding performance to audiences at the Felixstowe Academy.
The muscial evening involved year 10 and 11 BTEC and GCSE music students performing solo and group numbers to an enthusiastic audience.
The audience were clearly enthralled with the large bands performing modern alternate rock songs and the solo pieces which had been written by the performers themselves. The experienced Felixstowe Academy music teachers played a vital role in accompanying many of the musicians with their pieces. In addition to Mr Keane, who assisted over 6 Students with piano pieces, and Mr Wren, who composed a saxophone piece to perform with a modern pop song, BTEC Music student Alex Murray accompanied five groups on Bass Guitar.
The co-operation between students and teachers was clear, this together with up and coming musicians performing challenging and high graded pieces made this evening one to remember. After speaking to some audience members after the show they were very impressed with the level of pieces that were being performed and the sensible attitude by which the students performed them.
Once again the music department has put on a show which was a clear success with both the audience members and the students involved.
